DRDO started it's first project of Army that is surface-to-air-missiles (SAM) know as Project Indigo in 1960s. In 1970s DRDO started Project Devil along with Project Valiant to develop short-range SAM and ICBM. ISRO was founded in 1969, having head quarter in Bengaluru. It's vision is "harness space technology for national development while pursuing space science research & planetary exploration". Present chairman of ISRO is Kailasavadivoo Sivan.







ISRO built India's first satellite Aryabhata was launched by Soviet Union on 19th April, 1975. In 1980 Rohini became the first satellite placed in orbit launched by a ISRO made vehicle SLV-3. ISRO was also developed two other rockets for launching satellite in polar orbit & in geostationary orbit, Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) & Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV). This launchers launches numerous satellites as Communication Satellite & Earth observation satellites.

ISRO was launched a lunar orbiter, Chandrayaan-1 on 22nd October, 2008, which discover ice formed lunar water. Mars Orbiter Mission was launched on 5th November, 2013 which entered in Mars Orbit on 24th September, 2014. This making India as first country placed it's first satellite on Mars Orbit in it's very first attempt & first in Asia to place satellite in Mars Orbit.

On 15th February, 2017 ISRO launched 104 satellites in a single rocket, PSLV-C37 successfully, which is a world record. ISRO launched its second lunar mission Chandrayaan-2 to study the lunar geology and the distribution of lunar water on 22 July 2019.




ISRO operates through a countrywide network of centres. Sensors and payloads are developed at the Space Applications Centre in Ahmedabad. Satellites are designed, developed, assembled, and tested at the U R Rao Satellite Centre (formerly the ISRO Satellite Centre) in Bangalore. Launch vehicles are developed at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram. Launches take place at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota Island, near Chennai. The Master Control Facilities for geostationary satellite station keeping are located at Hassan and Bhopal. Reception and processing facilities for remote-sensing data are at the National Remote Sensing Centre in Hyderabad. ISRO’s commercial arm is Antrix Corporation, which has its headquarters in Bangalore.

GNM stands for General Nursing and Midwifery.

What is GNM course?

Nursing is very important part of helth care organization. There are several nursing courses available and GNM is of them. In the GNM nursing course you will get learn about taking care of patient and maternity care. The duration of course is 3 year and 6 month internship.
